The Game of Life

I’m a huge Ted Lasso fan. Huge.
Have just finished watching the entire series through twice in a row, after having watched it several times prior. (And in complete honesty, have replayed the ending with Cat Stevens’ Father and Son many, many times.)
So much to love in the series - the insistence on kindness and respect, the importance of being curious rather than judgemental, the honoring of vulnerability, the acknowledgement of both joy and sorrow in our lives and the fundamental belief in the goodness of people.
IMHO, the series is a brilliant rendering of what it is to be a human (a player) growing into the fullness of their self and their spiritually. The “players” weren’t pushovers, they were tough. In their game, we see them knocked down and then get up one more time. We see them demand accountability of one another and then extend heartfelt compassion when warranted. We see them struggle with their egos and then give into love, release into love, even in their toughness.
As Ted and his team remind us, we are not perfect, nor would we want to be.
All we can do is to keep trying and keep learning how to do better.
The Game of Life.
