Setting Your Own Frequency

A few weeks ago I heard a statement from Wendy Kennedy that stopped me in my tracks. Wendy is a long time spiritual teacher and galactic channel, a leader in the field. (Her website is higherfrequencies.net)
The statement was “Either you set your own frequency or someone else does.”
As we know, The Grandmothers are always telling us to be in and of our own energy. But this goes beyond that —that if we don’t do it ourselves, someone else will.
Wow—how relevant to what’s happening in our world. I am very guilty of heading down rabbit holes on Instagram and coming away angry, frustrated and fearful. Also happy and hopeful. It’s so easy to be swayed.
The fact is we’ve always taken on other people’s energies. We’re social creatures; our survival depends on connection and sharing social norms. People have been killed for “doing their own thing.”
So what about now? Why is the messaging so strong for us to stand in our own truth? Because we’re in the midst of history changing.
Yes, it can still be difficult to live from your own frequency. It might mean losing a relationship to do so. But if you’re on your spiritual path, your inner calling will most likely override others’ calls.
We’re social creatures, that’s a given. The trick is to recognize when we’re heading down another’s rabbit hole and reset ourself without judging another’s choices. We get to set our own frequency and let others set theirs.
(Hint: remember that you’re hardwired towards love; that’s the reset.)
